Ingredients
Beef
- 500g beef (sirloin, flank, or steak strips)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp black pepper
Veggies
- 1 green bell pepper (chunks)
- 1 red bell pepper (chunks)
- 1 large onion (chunks)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
Sauce
- ½ cup beef broth or water
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but 🔥)
- 1 tbsp ketchup or hoisin
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (to thicken)
For cooking
- 2 tbsp oil
Step 1 – Prep the Beef (Secret for tenderness)
Slice beef thin or small cubes.
Mix with:
soy sauce + cornstarch + pepper
Let sit 10–15 minutes.
This makes it:

Step 2 – Make the Sauce
In a bowl mix:
soy sauce
oyster sauce
broth
sugar
ketchup/hoisin
cornstarch
Stir well.

Add oil.
Cook beef 2–3 minutes only.
Don’t overcook or it gets tough.
Remove and set aside.
Step 4 – Cook Veggies
Same pan.
Add:
onion
peppers
garlic
Stir fry 2–3 minutes.
You want:
slightly soft
but still crunchy
Not mushy.
Step 5 – Sauce Time
Put beef back in.
Pour sauce.
Stir constantly.
In 1–2 minutes it becomes:
thick
shiny
sticky
