That sounds like the makings of a delicious comfort food casserole! Here’s a simple way you could put it all together:

Crock pot Chicken Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 32 oz frozen tater tots (about half a standard bag)
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (or 1 cup pre-cooked bacon pieces)
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenderloins, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and layer half of the tater tots on the bottom.
  3. Add the raw chicken pieces evenly over the tots. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheddar cheese and half the crumbled bacon.

  1. Layer the remaining tater tots on top.
  2. Pour the milk evenly over the casserole.
  3. Top with the remaining cheese and bacon.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 45–50 minutes. Then remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and top is golden and bubbly.

Optional: Let sit 5–10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
