Creamy Cheesy Chicken Wrap Recipe

Ingredients (2–3 large wraps)

For the Chicken

  • 400–500 g chicken breast or thighs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For the Creamy Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or cooking cream)
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella

For the Wrap

  • 2–3 large tortillas
  • 1–1½ cups shredded cheddar or a mix of cheeses
  • Optional: jalapeños, caramelized onions, fries, or lettuce

Instructions

1. Season and Cook the Chicken

  1. Cut the chicken into small bite-size pieces.
  2. Mix with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, chili powder, and lemon juice.
  3. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes (longer = better).
  4. Heat a pan on medium-high, add a little oil, and cook the chicken until golden and slightly crispy on the edges.
  5. Remove from heat and set aside.

This gives you tender chicken with a smoky flavor and a beautiful sear — just like the one in the photo.

2. Make the Creamy Cheese Sauce

  1. In the same pan, lower the heat to medium.
  2. Add heavy cream and stir for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Add cream cheese and mix until it melts smoothly.
  4. Add garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  5. Let the sauce thicken for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Add shredded cheddar and stir until melted and creamy.

You should get a thick, velvety, cheesy sauce — almost like the one dripping inside the wrap in the picture.

3. Combine Chicken + Sauce

Add the cooked chicken pieces into the sauce and mix well so every piece is coated in that creamy goodness.

4. Assemble the Wrap

  1. Place a tortilla on a pan or clean surface.
  2. Add a generous amount of shredded cheese in the center.
  3. Spoon the creamy chicken mixture on top.
  4. Add more cheese if you want an extra-melty wrap.
  5. Fold tightly into a burrito-style wrap.

5. Toast the Wrap

Heat a clean pan on medium.

Place the wrap seam-side down and toast for 1–2 minutes on each side until it’s golden and the cheese inside melts completely.

This step makes the wrap hold together and adds that beautiful crisp exterior.

Quick Tips for Best Results

  • Use chicken thighs if you want juicier meat.
  • Add extra cheddar for an even richer flavor.
  • For a spicy version, add sriracha or chipotle powder to the cream sauce.
  • Don’t overfill the wrap or it will burst when toasting.
