Crispy Pan-Fried Cheese Sticks

Ingredients

  • 400g halloumi cheese (or any firm, non-melting cheese)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: a squeeze of lemon, chili flakes, or honey

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cheese

Cut the cheese block into thick sticks — about the size of fries. Pat them dry with a paper towel so they crisp better.

2. Season Lightly

Sprinkle paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper on all sides. Halloumi is already salty, so you don’t need extra salt.

3. Heat the Pan

Use a non-stick or cast-iron pan. Add a little olive oil or butter and heat on medium.

4. Pan-Fry the Cheese

Place the cheese sticks in the hot pan without crowding. Cook 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy just like in the image. Turn gently with tongs.

5. Serve Hot

Remove and place on a plate. Serve immediately because halloumi tastes best when warm.

You can drizzle honey, sprinkle chili flakes, or squeeze lemon juice for extra flavor.
