Creamy Fruit Salad Dessert 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whipped cream
    (or 1 can of whipped topping like Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 1 can (400g) fruit cocktail, drained
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (optional, drained)
  • ½ cup cherries (maraschino cherries, sliced)
  • ½ cup mandarin oranges, drained
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 3 tbsp sugar (optional, depends on sweetness)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the creamy base

  1. In a large bowl, mix:
    • whipped cream
    • sour cream (or yogurt)
    • vanilla
  2. Whisk gently until smooth.

2. Add the fruit

  1. Drain all canned fruits very well so the dessert doesn’t get watery.
  2. Add:
    • fruit cocktail
    • cherries
    • pineapple
    • mandarin oranges

3. Add the extras

  1. Add marshmallows.
  2. Add coconut and nuts if using.
  3. Add sugar only if you want it sweeter.

4. Mix gently

  • Fold everything together without crushing the fruits.

5. Chill

  • Cover and refrigerate for 3–4 hours, or overnight.
  • The dessert will thicken and the flavors blend perfectly.

Serving

Serve cold in bowls or scoop into dessert cups.
