Cheesy Ham Twist Rolls

These twisted rolls are made by filling a pastry sheet with cheese and ham, rolling it up, slicing, twisting, and baking until golden. Crispy outside, soft and cheesy inside — perfect for snacks, breakfast, or parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 large sheet of puff pastry (or pizza dough)
  • 1–1½ cups shredded cheese (mozzarella + cheddar recommended)
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley or green onion
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp soft butter or olive oil
  • Optional:
    • cream cheese spread
    • garlic powder
    • oregano

Instructions

1. Prepare the Filling

  1. Lay out your pastry sheet on baking paper.
  2. Spread a thin layer of butter or cream cheese.
  3. Sprinkle cheese evenly over the sheet.
  4. Add diced ham.
  5. Scatter parsley or green onions.
  6. Lightly season with garlic powder and oregano.

2. Roll the Dough

  1. Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log (like the picture).
  2. Make sure it stays firm so the filling doesn’t fall out.

3. Slice and Twist

  1. Cut the roll into slices about 2–3 cm thick.
  2. Take each slice, open it slightly, and twist both ends.
    • This creates the beautiful twisted shape shown in the image.

4. Bake

  1. Place the twisted rolls on a tray lined with baking paper.
  2. Brush lightly with egg wash.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

5. Serve

Enjoy warm!

Perfect with tea, soup, or dipping sauces (garlic sauce, ketchup, ranch, or cheese dip).
