Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 2 oz dark rum
  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • ½ oz grenadine
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • Dash of Angostura bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange slice and cherry (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Shake it up:
    In a shaker filled with ice, combine dark rum, lime juice, simple syrup, grenadine, orange juice, and a dash of bitters.

  1. Shake well:
    Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled.

  1. Serve tropical-style:
    Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.

  1. Garnish:
    Add an orange slice and maraschino cherry for that classic island finish
